The vision of the Worcester Elementary School Library Coalition is for every Worcester Public School to have access to a school library that includes:

  • Adequate space for a fully functional school library

  • A curriculum based on library media standards

  • A licensed school librarian assigned to each school

  • Sufficient resources to provide up-to date books and materials.

We work to achieve our vision by:

  • Supporting schools that have the space and interest for a school library by helping them acquire books, setting up infrastructure, and coordinating volunteers.

  • Leading in advocacy and public awareness around the current state of our elementary school libraries as well as librarian and book access.

  • Fundraising to address immediate needs.
